Teflon Hoses | PTFE Hoses from the Manufacturer

We supply PTFE hoses, convoluted hoses, film-wrapped hoses, and smooth-bore hoses made from Teflon/PTFE, as well as expansion joints for demanding industrial applications. End fittings are also available with PTFE lining.

PTFE convoluted hoses are successfully used in virtually all sectors of the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. They are primarily used for transporting liquids and gases of all kinds. PTFE hoses prove particularly effective for media where other materials are not equally suitable due to operational safety requirements.

Properties of PTFE as a Hose Material

Our PTFE hoses are manufactured from virgin PTFE and for good reason.

Virgin PTFE is the standard material for critical applications. These include seals, components, and food-grade PTFE used in the food processing industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical technology, and the chemical industry. The material is characterized by FDA compliance, an exceptionally low coefficient of friction, and outstanding chemical resistance. As a result, PTFE is acid-resistant, resistant to virtually all chemicals, and suitable for highly demanding media. In addition, it is heat-resistant and can be used continuously at temperatures of up to 260°C (500°F).

Reprocessed PTFE is ideal for less critical, cost-sensitive mechanical components where FDA approvals or extreme purity are not required. Typical applications include general mechanical engineering, simple spacer washers, guide strips, and non-critical sealing rings.

Conclusion:

Where absolute purity, FDA compliance, and maximum material performance are required, virgin PTFE is the only viable choice. For purely mechanical, cost-sensitive standard applications, reprocessed PTFE offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative.

PTFE Hoses: Chemically Resistant and Durable

The fully fluorinated high-performance polymer polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is the most widely used fluoropolymer and has established itself as an indispensable material in modern industry due to its unique properties. Its key advantages include outstanding chemical resistance, an exceptionally wide operating temperature range, and excellent electrical and dielectric properties. In addition, PTFE offers superior resistance to embrittlement, excellent aging resistance, and exceptional material purity.

PTFE is a remarkable material that is virtually resistant to all chemicals and solvents. Moisture does not cause swelling, and even prolonged exposure to sunlight results in neither embrittlement nor weathering of the hose.

PTFE Is Heat-Resistant and Suitable for Continuous Service up to 260°C

PTFE remains extremely stable at elevated temperatures, with a continuous operating temperature of approximately 260°C (500°F). Even after 20,000 hours of exposure at this temperature, it retains around 50% of its mechanical properties.

Above 300°C (572°F), PTFE begins to experience gradual weight loss at a rate of approximately 0.0003% per hour. At 360°C (680°F), this increases to 0.003% per hour. At temperatures exceeding 400°C (752°F), a more rapid decomposition process begins.

PTFE Hoses for the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Food Industries

Due to their unique properties, maximum chemical resistance, ease of cleaning, and neutral taste and odor characteristics. PTFE hoses are widely used in the chemical industry, as well as in food and beverage processing and pharmaceutical applications.

PTFE hoses can be fitted with all common types of end fittings. Depending on customer requirements and operating conditions, the hoses can be reinforced with braided coverings that serve as pressure-bearing layers. In the case of our Fluorflex hose, the reinforcement consists of a Kevlar braid with an EPDM rubber outer cover.
